The Money Edit
Have you ever thought about how much money you’d like to make here on Substack?
I don’t post my figures publicly, but I’m happy to answer how it looks and how it’s all grown if anyone in my community asks. I can tell you I’m up +221% income from this time last year here and +40% on my paid newsletter.
In the UK, it’s a little ‘uncouth’ to bang on about money but here’s the thing...
In recent surveys, it’s been shown that women are excellent custodians of money, they give more, they are generous in their business models. I love holding that archetype instead of the ‘poor artist’ one I held and aligned with for years.
Last year this membership made up 1/3 of my income, now it’s 1/2.
I find it so expansive to dream up what’s possible with our words and in our Substack worlds. I love how these posts have helped and supported thousands of you to get set up and go paid, to ask for paid subscribers, to start memberships, to get business tips - it’s a joy to help you feel nourished in this way.
With the Substack subscription model
in the realm of online business, it’s actually a low price/ hard sell…
Why…
Because you are selling… commitment… people have objections to commitment.
I have people tell me they leave
because of time, because of price, because of overwhelm.My truth is; I’m here doing this anyway, this is how much it costs and I’ll always be here for you. I also offer bursary spots which are run on a ‘pay it forward’ model. 1
The people I focus on here are unique creative beings with dreams. My favourite work is to hold up the mirror and show them how incredible they are, then teach them strategy and support their dreams. I hold them through the sticky patches and we look holistically at our business models INCLUDING Substack.
