Slow and steady and sustainable growth is KEY to playing the long term game on Substack!

There are SO many components to going paid but let’s break it down.

I put a note out a few days ago to invite people to chime in and you’ll see there are LOTS of different thoughts on the same topic of free 7 day trials.

We (of course) might be approaching going paid from lots of different starting points with all our old money stories bubbling up too…

This is where your right time is SO super important… What IS the right time for you to go paid? Let’s do the work and connect with your right time with your intuition and we’re all set!

• What does being paid for your work look and feel like?

• Why do you want to offer content behind the paywall on Substack?

• When do you want to offer content behind the paywall?

• How much content/ work/ writing/ stuff do you want to offer?

• How often?

• If you’re standing on a beach and all your community is there with you… people have flown in, come by boat, walked, driven, there are dogs, toddlers, babies and friends - are you sitting round the fire in a small circle or building a stage to stand and speak to 100s/1000s of folks?

• How much do you want to charge? Monthly/ Annual?

• How much do you want to be making from this income stream in 3 years time? Sit with the maths and with the delivery of what you are asking…

Substack say to aim for between 1-10% of your subs converting to paid… Substack get paid when we get paid but we still need balance…

My goals here are seasonal, slower, my monthly plan is £10 and it fits into my business eco-system in a different way to Sparkle…
