WORKSHOP REPLAY - Let's talk about going paid on Substack!
Setting up/ sustaining your creative work behind a paywall on Substack!
Hi gang!
This is an invitation we will keep referring back to each month so if this work doesn’t serve you right now feel free to save the post and join the discussion later in your Substack journey…
Comments are only open to paid subs on this one but please head to this post or the Note I’ve embedded if you want to chat.
My hope is this can be an open discussion, a place to share knowledge, expertise, ways in, ways around, fears and excitement…!
Yep all related to inserting that paywall for YOUR work. This a new engine for culture and we’re all here for it!
There are SO many components to going paid but let’s break it down.
I put a note out a few days ago to invite people to chime in and you’ll see there are LOTS of different thoughts on the same topic of free 7 day trials.
We (of course) might be approaching going paid from lots of different starting points with all our old money stories bubbling up too…
This is where your right time is SO super important… What IS the right time for you to go paid? Let’s do the work and connect with your right time with your intuition and we’re all set!
✨
Here are your journalling prompts to explore what going paid here might mean to you - dismiss all that feel too hard or irrelevant, fill your notebook with thoughts - let’s get clearer and keep working together on this.
I’ll help you with all of this in the workshop;
What does being paid for your work look and feel like?
Why do you want to offer content behind the paywall on Substack?
When do you want to offer content behind the paywall?
How much content/ work/ writing/ stuff do you want to offer?
How often?
If you’re standing on a beach and all your community is there with you… people have flown in, come by boat, walked, driven, there are dogs, toddlers, babies and friends - are you sitting round the fire in a small circle or building a stage to stand and speak to 100s/1000s of folks?
How much do you want to charge? Monthly/ Annual?
How much do you want to be making from this income stream in 3 years time? Sit with the maths and with the delivery of what you are asking…
and for comparison here is the screen shot of my ‘main publication…’
Setting up and Sustaining your Creative work behind the paywall
Let’s chat paywalls, paid for content and being paid for our glorious creativity in the comments? (Only open to paid subs this time).
