I thought I’d just tell you where my head is for investments in this space for next year so that it could perhaps inspire your planning and thoughts about your own Substack space. I’m SO excited to be getting ready to spend time in a new year with you all! Thanks for being here and supporting my work.
8 Things I’m investing in for my Substack in 2024
Business development. I’ve been self employed since 2008. Honestly a lot of that time has been jumping from large cultural contract to large contract. Business development is so important to me. It’s also necessary if I want my business to continue to work. I always want to better understand how everything fits together for my personal, spiritual and business development and this is the person I work with for that.
Illustration partnerships - our threads for commissioning illustrators are STILL live and I’ve had no emails from illustrators 😢
and I are developing this work for the long term and we’re so excited by the response so far. (link below).Time in collaboration; this one won’t surprise you, collabs are my favourite and my best. Guest spots on podcasts, some print, some pop-ups. Co-creation, co-inspiration, life giving collabs!

Podcast set up and editing - I’ll not lie guys I feel behind with editing. I learnt it, I forgot bits, I have to pick it up again. BUT I will. I also really want to use my fancy mic instead of my apple plug ins because the sound will be better for you all and I need to NOT be scared of it. My plan for 2024 is to get a sponsor to pay for professional edits.
A new accountant - I can’t believe another year has gone by and I have to do my own accounts - oh save me and those stripe payments! 🙉

Commissioning Illustrations for Substack Publications
Hi petals, Thanks SO much for coming along to our first Illustrator and Writer meet up this week. I’ve made this follow up post FREE until the end of the weekend as it felt like such a generous space and I didn’t want to paywall the ripples of that! Adam and I felt called to do this work. We haven’t been paid to do it but we do appreciate all of your shares, support and the magic of the ripple effect of commissions that might come from it.
As a newbie here, I'm very excited by the prospect of more collaboration! That's definitely something I will be exploring more in 2024 as I've seen it work so beautifully for others (namely getting new people in front of me, who happen to have collaborated with someone I love).

Love this Claire, so exciting and inspiring. Thank you for sharing your intentions and reasons behind them so clearly. I hope that I will also be able to focus on my personal growth and invest in myself in the year ahead which I see as being very much entwined with Substack, but first, some deep visioning this winter xx
