I put as one of my goals this year for my newsletter was to recommend someone else at least every other month. I made a list and I think I can safely do it on a monthly basis and have no idea why I was worried I wouldn't find enough people.
Thank you for sharing β₯οΈ I would love to grow my Substack and my community, but I'm struggling to find others in my niche. The explore function only seems to show me the top blogs, which are obviously all great, but I really enjoy finding the more hidden gems and getting to know the people behind him before they explode and become too busy to converse with me π
In that spirit, hello to any other 'mummy' blogger's out there, I'd love to read your work!
Ahh Charlotte! Youβre in the right place. I run another space with a pal of mine Laura Oldfield called Company of Two and itβs all mums! Iβll pop back and share the link - weβve done over 10 guest posts with mums who run their own businesses and have a podcast too! β₯οΈ
I've just discovered this post Claire and don't know ow why I didn't see it before.. but alas I'm here! Thanks for sharing ALL of this powerful information! I'm just loving it π«. I had a thought today and wondered how are writers adding auto readers to their posts so that people who prefer to listen can just listen? I love this feature as I always like to listen to people's work while I'm doing basic jobs. Is this somewhere in Substack? Or an outside feature? πππxx
You're right that this post will take some time to get through, haha! I will say my goal this year is to keep writing consistently and connect with even more folks on here. I had a lot of self doubt since officially launching in September-ish here, but I am proud of myself for being consistent. So I have a list of small steps, and when I do feel overwhelmed all I know is I just need to pick something on the list and I'll move forward step by step.
Ahh small steps YES Sarah! Wow itβs so easy to start to feel the enormity but in the words of a very famous princess πΈπΌ we just do the next right thing... for us. β¨π€π«
Thank for the mention π Iβm still trying shake of the cobwebs of the New Year and get back into gear here! This was a lovely and helpful nudge π
There is so much to read here, thanks for such a packed post with lots of gems. I just joined sparkle yesterday and Substack 2 weeks ago. Itβs so exciting, I feel like Iβve entered wonderland!
My goal is to post twice a week in January then settle to once a week from February onwards and see where it leads me.
Iβm glad to have found your community ππβ¨
Iβm trying to see your pdf but Iβm going round in circles... I have the app on my phone so I must be signed in but your link keeps on taking me to assign in page. Please can you help me?
Iβve just tried and it works for me but try on your desktop? If youβre on my publication there and your click βbrand new to Substackβ itβs there too. If youβre really stuck email me and Iβll send it. No worries. β¨ βοΈβ¨
I am signed into Substack but I cant get anywhere⦠am I meant to sign in to Sparkle? I went down that route on my phone but it said I already subscribe (free). I'm sure I'm being a bit thick but just cant get any further
Yet again an incredibly informative post Claire. Thank you for sharing so much amazing content and your tip of the week! Taking on board your feedback recommendation blurb shared π€
Claire, do you host your twice a month workshops at the same time of day every month or do you change it up? I'm not in the UK so I'm wondering if I'd always be sleeping! π
No one is 9.30am GMT and the other is late afternoon. Email me if you want the timeline? Replays always available and you can send questions in to be answered live too! β¨β¨π
Youβre welcome! It seemed very informative and I know you said itβs not the most exciting but folks really need this stuff! I have one but I ran out of breath multiple times recording it! π
So fab!! Honestly youβre so right in that itβs fine to miss looking at it but actually the set up is quite important as is regular tinkering I find! I liked what you said about categories - theyβve always been quite tricky for us. I wrote a post on it and realised yep lots of us who straddle multitudes feel like they are boxing us in or perhaps confusing our audience! Would this post be Culture? Education? Literature? π€¦π½ββοΈπ€·π½ββοΈ

I wasn't sure if anyone would bother watching that particular video, but from comments it seems to have been really helpful. Which is fab!
