No lovely - and you're fine - no silly questions here - it's a lot to get your head around - so the way it works is that we have to choose - all paid, monthly, annual or founding members... If you're looking to sell a digital product but don't want to use substack's subscription service you'd have to do that off platform.
Thank you so much Claire for your time, itβs appreciated.
I think I get it now.
Iβm worried offering βenoughβ for subscribers. Rationally I know whatever I want is fine as they can pick and choose. But spiritually I want it to be good and rewarding (damn you impostersyndrom I will smite thee).
I have a webshop with a few lovely digital products so I could place them here as perks for subscribers. And perhaps do a monthly subscription only perk or post or both.
Time to hatch a plan this summer to set this in motion.
I've just turned on the perks page (https://www.theartemisian.com/perks). One thing I've wondered is if this might create confusion for potential members.
What's on the perks page isn't everything they get when they upgrade (I list the full benefits on another page).
So I wonder if I need to be clear about that in the description??
Thanks for being here guys - feel free to let me know your ideas for the perks tab and SHARE yours if you've already started using it?
I made some! Going to add more over time https://alixklingenberg.substack.com/perks
Whoop!
Iβm new here and need some help understanding this. Itβs like a wee shop for downloadables? Only you pay monthly to have access to that wee shop?
Extras would be whatever subscription posts you create? ( Iβm not there yet, just managing a newsletter)
Yes to the first part of your question! For paid access to articles we use a paywall!
So you can subscribe to the perks individually and not be a sub to the paywall?
I feel so old asking this but have a hard time understanding.

Yay - Subscription models are a complex but rewarding beast - my Substack 0-$10k class is here if you want to go deeper - https://www.creativelyconscious.co.uk/substack-0-10k-live-masterclass-and-replay?coupon=SPARKLERS - it's a great hour to spend. xx

I would make a page call it member perks add to your nav bar then add the Susbtack perks url inside it otherwise like you say it gets confusing π«€
