My 12 chapters have turned into the book I am currently publishing (not the next one).
May was massive for me in respect of big book breakthroughs 🤩 I now have a 4 phase healing & growth model to integrate into all that I’ve learned.
The 12 chapters (sections really) I am publishing here each month are part of that model.
It’s all coming together, though I’ve gone through a phase where all this has added way more work to do and it hasn’t felt like I’m getting any closer to the end. Hopefully I can turn that around this month and get loads done!
Also debating a title change (again!). Migraine Mastery - Heal Your Body. Lead change. Would love to hear feedback on that one.
Beautiful Amber… I think it’s interesting using the word “body” in the title because we associate migraine with heads… you’re onto something there I think…
This is really helpful because I see that focus in the medical system - the body is entirely overlooked. Yet it’s been through the healing of my body that’s healed my head.
Amber, that is fascinating! What about putting that in the title and flipping it around? - "Heal Your Body, Heal Your Head - Migraine Mastery" - I don't usually make such bold suggestions on someoone else's ideas so I know this may not feel right to you. Please take what is useful and discard the rest :-) I just think that insight, that we may need to (counterintuitively) focus on the body to help the head is probably CORE to what will sell this book. <3
I’d say my first draft is going pretty well since I started writing with others at Suzy Walker’s writing hour. I was struggling to give myself time to work on the novel, but now I have these set times the words are flowing and I’m about half way through chapter 5. I am
Going to try and add more times myself too, but actually by simply showing up to these two sessions each week I’m making progress. I usually write 1000-1100 words in the 50 mins (there’s 5 mins each end of the session to catch up). In theory I could have a whole book in 40 weeks of doing this even if I only wrote in these two sessions.
I know everyone finds their own way, but this has really worked for me.
I’m excited for what comes next and how my story will progress :)
I am getting more ideas in my head this june, which is fantastic. A surprise idea for an unfinished story! I am writing an article on the muse which is essentially the process of creative flow (science/greek myth)and a tarot spread to match.
I loved our circle in May <3 And that was...most of what I did in May with this club. Life-stuff got in the way of the writing so I didn't write much last month. Hopefully back on track now to continue. As some of you know, at this time my book= me collecting my substack Reflections and any other writing I do and "dumping" it into month-by-month word documents, to be played around with in 2026. I'll be curious to see what I have by the end of the year and how (if?) any of it fits together. What I most appreciate is how this container of being part of a "club" dedicated to showing up month by month helps me keep one eye on the larger picture. Not just posting on Substack, writing towards a larger project that is defining itself week by week and month by month.
Loved the meet up we had.

It’s a great idea… 💡

Oh I love connecting to the muse too - that's so wonderful you are exploring this for your writing/ book too Erica!
Yes, the muse had been floating around my head for some time. It’s time I let her out 🧚

I love the incremental build up too. ✨✨
