Fabulous Live Claire. Well balanced, and generous.

Thanks for the mention alongside other voices. It's so good to consider the many sides and deployments of AI. 🙏🏻 ❤️‍🔥

Totally and thanks for giving me the confidence to go for this! It was going to be a closed (much requested) workshop but this was actually a much better was to pick up the threads. ✨✨

Thanks Claire, it’s good to get people being brave enough to give their perspectives on this. I say brave because with the inevitable backlash it does feel bravery is required! I think the devil is in the detail. What and how are people using it. There are so many ways that it can make a creative person’s life easier that have nothing to do with writing. As a busy mum it’s massively helped me and I have neurodivergent clients who use it and it helps so much with their overwhelm.

This was so informative, Claire. Also, appreciate this convo. Only now beginning to dabble with it. I asked it to give us a Summer movie list…all Disney. It gave me a fun, doable schedule. It also offered themed bingo and crafts for the movies! Too fun! Very helpful. Now I feel calmer, knowing I can have writing pockets while my kids are hanging out. Not on video games or phones. Well take a movie instead.

Oh it’s wonderful on kids activities and dynamics. My resilience is spent with everything we’ve been through as a family so I appreciate that part of working through how to manage my two very different nerupspicy kids! ✨💖✨

I’ve deleted my comment from yesterday as it was such a tired, personal ramble Clare, and I want to write a clearer response to your video and the issues you cover, once I’ve explored the potential, and possible pitfalls of ChatGPT more. I really appreciate you opening up this discussion 💕x

So interesting to hear your experience with AI. Thank you, Claire. This is such a crucial conversation to be having right now. The key is to retain our human voice and discernment. Owning the use is better than hiding it as seeing amazing articles or notes that are generated can make us feel inadequate. Also, it’s about trust. When I’m marking academic papers, it is hard to trust when it’s clearly unedited AI. There absolutely needs to be a moral compass here. ✨

Discernment yes totally Trudi! ✨✨💚✨✨ wow really? What are the tell tale signs? Here it’s over use of emojis, em dashes and that feeling of it being “churned” rather than felt.

In a paper, it can be over use of citations and references that don’t exist, or bear no relevance, strange phrasing or old fashioned words that jar with the context and sometimes paragraphs of text that have nothing to do with the assignment!

Oh wow!! It loves to give incorrect info. It can’t read substack posts unless I copy and paste the info from mine but it pretends it has 😂

Interesting listen, sad the first 16 minutes didn't work, but appreciated your insights. I use AI for research purposes, general googling, and yes like someone else mentioned meal plans! It's so good when you have a few ingredients and you want to come up with something for dinner.

Loved this discussion and all the nuance in it. I’m all for using chat gpt to help with life admin, getting me started with suggestions when I have a mental

Block and some editing when needed. Saves so much time but honestly my creative ideas are my own as is my experience. Can t replace or ‘hack’ either of those, not real human connection. You are right though about modern life and 5 full time jobs and still only 24 hours in the day… we need tools to help us do what is asked of us in many instances.

My robot that sweeps and vacuums for me is not AI but I’m so grateful it does a job for me that I don’t have to do, same with my washing machine. Many tasks can be outsourced to these AI programs and we don’t have to feel guilty about the fact we didn’t do it ourselves. It’s just hr creativity where there is a grey area…. So interesting about how you have decided to put some

of your articles behind a pay wall now to protect them good to know. Would love to hear more on your thoughts about trademarking and its validity in what aspects and at what time it’s worth it and when it’s not worth it, thanks for a great audio presentation Claire!

This was brilliant, Claire! I use ChatGPT to edit posts that I have written, mostly asking for grammar and syntax corrections because I’m not a native speaker of English and because I’ve been struggling with self-confidence around my ability to write in a clear and concise manner. A couple of times when I didn’t give enough instructions, it would rewrite my text in a way that didn’t sound like me, so I now ask it very clearly that I don’t want to change my voice or use words that I don’t normally use, but really focus on the grammar. I sometimes then invited to provide some comments on where it says I could improve the flow or the clarity of the text. And yes, I do sometimes feel a little bit of shame, especially as I see posts that have that created by human intelligence badge. And yet all the content the idea and the structure of my text are created by my own human intelligence.

I also use it in my coaching business to help me edit promotional posts that I write on LinkedIn, and it has also helped me with preparing for difficult conversations with difficult people in my life.

I don’t like how it always offers praise and admiration and I have actually asked it to tone it down and give me tough love every now and again.

AI is theft. AI is not reliable (ask anyone at the Chicago Sun Times, or you can Google the Mata vs Avianca case). If you don't want to write, just don't.

If you watch the video, and I suspect you haven’t, it’s not about writing articles with AI. It’s about all the ways we can use it to make our lives easier, both in our creative lives with help with structures and admin and task management and in our busy and very overwhelming other lives as carers and parents and managers of households etc. if we can remove some of the mental load we are all under, we get back time for our work, creativity and wellbeing. It’s always best to comment on things where you’ve taken time to consider the content.
