I’m replacing my weekly Monday chat thread with a thoughtful, spacious post so you can consider last week’s invite a little longer…
If you missed our class and the replay it’s here and paywall free until tomorrow;
Bigfoot and his digital footprint
I read The Power of Now in my early twenties.
It changed everything.
It still does.
It’s curious bringing up children in a world where “everything” is possible.
Anything you can dream you can (pretty much) do or see. This might be the last year my son believes in Santa. As magic diminishes practicality takes over but for now…
Magic + Creative growth = Endless possibility.
I see it in the projects I create for families. I see it in the Christmas lights. I see it in your Substack!
Our kids see possibility in the footballers they support and in the creatives they listen to. My son who’s nine now often asks me how many subscribers I have (on youtube) and I tell him jokingly;
“200 more than Dad, but you know sweetie, I’m not a YouTuber really, I am on Substack”
He pushes for me to do more on YouTube and sometimes asks to start his own channel, yet when we were on the BBC a few weeks back, he told me; “I don’t want to be famous mum”. There’s a calibration space of feeling safe…I get that.
On possibility and being right on time
I listen to podcasts where women half my age have built businesses I can only dream of. I lean in as I drive the school run and they speak openly about financial literacy, their salaries, creative expression and how it all works.
I’m in awe of them. I’m one of them in lots of ways.
I’m glad my kids won’t have the same self limiting beliefs we did about what’s possible as a creative and a business owner (should they choose to be one like me).
They can just open a YouTube account or a Substack and create from zero. But so can we?
I’m building something here that works for us all from within our creative comfort zones. I’m here to foster community, gratitude and generosity and I also want to question everything.
I know it needs to feel good and aligned for us to want to do it long term.
Substack gives us space to consider and test.
What works?
What feels good?
How co-creation makes us feel?
What’s next?
So just for today, I’m asking you…
If you started again here on Substack, what would you do differently? What would you make space for? What would you try?
It’s kind of a trick question.
You have time, we have so much time…. meet me in the comments?
I’ll go first if you like?
Sending sparkles,
Claire x

If you’re new here Hi!
I’m Claire and I’m an Engagement Consultant and Mentor. You can join the Sparkle on Substack members community to meet new pals and for instant access to 6 joyful growth workshops. There are two live co-working calls and workshops coming up next month. In January, we’ll set our intentions and goals for 2024 together and I’m SO excited!
Nothing. My answer is... I wouldn't change a thing. Told you it was kind of a trick question... ✨
I still feel like I'm only just starting and I think that's the beauty of Substack. It doesn't feel like a place for regrets and 'what-if's'. It's a place for learning, creativity, collaboration and growth. There is no set way, and it is beautiful to explore and experiment. We can start again with it every day and always try different things and that's really special 💕
