Hey Claire! I don’t think I can make the masterclass as I’m away a bit this weekend but I have a question kind of related… do you (or HOW do you) keep your “normal” mailing list and your substack mailing list up to date with each other?
I’m getting new subs (and new unsubs) on both regularly, though only use the ‘normal’ one for workshop sales and email sequences, and here for newsletters… there might not be a straight forward answer (I’ve tried Zapier but no luck) and it may not be relevant for this workshop but I thought I’d put it out there! 💫
You know Sara Tasker mentioned she'd found a work-around to this but Russell and I just download the list each month and let people unsubscribe - I don't actually email anyone about products unless they have signed up via my normal website which has segmentation etc...
Hmm, ok, thank you! It sounds like roughly what I do, which feels clunky but it works for now, and maybe there’ll be some way of integrating in the future! I love automation!
Hi Claire, This is perfect timing. Just last weekend I was wondering how I could separate the Substack newsletter function from the website functions. I find that when people write their Substack posts as newsletters, they become very confusing when they are posted on their Substack website. For example, if someone announces an event, it makes sense in a newsletter because the newsletter arrives in current time. But when someone reads that post on the website (sometime in the future), it's confusing if the event is currently happening or if it happened in the past.
I don't want to overly complicate Substack but sometimes, the overly simplified functions have their own complications. I look forward to hearing what you have to say.
Thank you so much Claire, this is precisely the question I've been asking myself - How to just write the Substack newsletter (without the pressure of social media-like presence). The last 2 weeks were tough on me and I felt like quitting. I think your masterclass will help me stay here for longer. :)
I will look into software to do it live too but can’t guarantee.:: I know that I’ve been able to turn it on in zoom - will do a quick test end of the week. ❤️
Amazing, I’ve sent this on to my new friend - who actually lives near you guys in warkworth ! Hope she gets to make it, she’s incredible content already💜
A masterclass just for someone like me. Thank you!
Yay glad you can come along Tiffany! ✨✨🫖
I'm in! So excited 🤩
Yay ✨✨

Yes I think so and admin worth doing isn’t it as we’ve not been able to do this via socials. ✨
