This is so so helpful! Often I dismiss things or procrastinate on things - but I didnt realise it was my imposter syndrome (who will now have to have a character, because I love that idea) who was holding me back. Now I just need to lean into compassion instead. 💕
Yes here's to compassion and give them a character or an animal - it really helps with the compassion and understanding what they are there to teach us. 💫
This is a beautiful post, Claire ✨ the perfectionist in us would have sitting, frozen in fear, not doing anything creative or fun at all. By meeting the inner critic perfectionist with compassion we can gently let our heart explore the things that make life better. And what better place than right here on Substack 💖
Exactly! I think it can take a while to find that space where you sit comfortably. (It’s taken me nearly 5 years 😂) I now have a vision and a strategy and it feels flucking awesome!
I totally resonate and agree. I call that critical voice the self critic and often get clients to name it. Had some hilarious names over the years. Had some really scary pictures of it from young people I have worked with). I think one of the functions of the self critic is to try and keep us safe. Safe from failure, disappoint, guilt, shame etc. So it tries to scare us away from opportunities. It is very risk averse. So I entirely agree with you it is recognising that and finding ways to soothe the self critic so our inner wisdom can take over (my self critic is pretty loud right now, writing this 😂).
When you asked me last week what am I wanting to do here, I told you i was compiling a list of post titles to create content. Then I thought... why not open the post page and just write a little piece to see how it turns out. It is not perfect but I actually just flowed with it and I am happy and thrilled with it. If it stays stuck on a list I won't be able to tune into my natural writing style.. T/Y
So inspiring. I often get stuck in freeze mode and I know I do get confronted with imposter syndrome and standing in my own way (first epiphany came whilst reading Julia Cameron!). Thank you for sharing Claire 🙏 it's really comforting and provides that little gentle shake and reminder than we can challenge that inner voice and get ourselves moving again.
Love this invitation to invite compassion to the party alongside imposter syndrome and comparison! Gonna give that a whirl 🌀
It’s tips I need atm with promoting my healing through writing space….i have guest speakers coming in from a publishing company to speak about book publishing and the visibility witch to talk about visibility to those you are uniquely here to serve and brand alignment. Do I post about these in the free space and invite people to join us behind the paywall for either that year or month?
Yes, yes, yes! This is so what is going on at the moment for me. I have been meaning to write my first post for months now. Its time to just get on with it!

You are a superstar and love to see you walking the talk. Let's break through our writing blocks.
Thank you lovely! ❤️✨

It's a welcome playground isn't it Lisa - the feedback really helped me in the early days as I was no longer writing into a black hole lol

Yes I’d say so amber if you see these as being paid for/ workshop offers rather than open access podcasts?
Such a beautiful reflection on how to gently navigate perfectionism and reconnect with the creative flow. Thank you.
You’re so welcome Gabriela. ✨🙏
Amazing Claire, that you created this in a morning. Good to see at Suzy’s & receive the result.
Love this as a mantra …
Who needs to hear this today? How can my words be a balm for others in ways that feel easeful to me?
