Hi all,
I’m SUPER excited to give this topic of social media on Substack space.
The main reason?
Once you come to the decision that’s RIGHT for you on all the social media-y elements here - it’s going to change your Substack experience for the better.
By the end of class (or through the replay), you’ll have more knowledge and a written down personalised plan for the next three months on how to use all of Substack’s ‘social media’ esq. tools.
Chat, Notes, Thread, Community building posts with audio/ video…
Yes, even if that means you stay firm on NOT using (some of) them - no fomo here. ✨
We are all walking our own path. I am going to walk you through why I do what I do with each of them and why, what I’ve shifted over the years and some upcoming changes.
Some thoughts on keeping it simple on what has become a mixed media multi-dimensional platform…
Substack Chat - like a what’s app chat with your subscribers. There are MANY ways to use chat. It doesn’t have to be tumbleweed but you also don’t have to use it at all. Come to class and we’ll make a decision on where it fits with your goals and your publication essence. As a reader I have left all chats except chats for publications I pay for. No fomo here.
Susbstack Notes - I would advise everyone uses Notes in 3 distinct ways.
It’s a brilliant tool for growth, mingling and supporting your colleagues. In my opinion likes and subscribes are slowing down as things get busier and people press the follow button. So let’s make an effort now and get clear on what we WANT and expect from Notes and the time we invest there.
Substack Thread Posts - threads like this one and 3 reasons why I love them. This one is STILL going strong after nearly a week. Pop in and support your colleagues?
Audio, Video and Community invite posts for CONNECTION - there are so many ways to build community through your work and words - let’s explore this together!
Lastly - our compassionate and supportive friend thread - is focussed on our writer bio, publication explainer this summer. More in the call.

where you are invited to do your most joyful work and embody your own creative practise so you can grow sustainably here. And here’s the replay of the call, use the comments to ask questions and work through what you want your ‘social media’ experience to be here…
✨ ALL the replays from the calls can be found in the membership portal.✨
