Hi all
In the members call today we honed in on mindset.
It was wonderful to hear from so many of you before we hit record. I wanted to share the people who made it along live but the zoom chat didn’t record properly and I don’t have the links - sorry about that folks. I should have copied and pasted those while we were chatting.

The best posting schedule on Substack is the one that works for you…
I touched on setting up a posting schedule/ calendar that works for you here.
About treating your time on the website/ as a publisher with a different focus to the energy you bring to the app.
You might connect with this note I wrote on the same topic…
I suggested using a notebook page and making two columns;
Work I want to do on the Substack website?
Reading I can do on the Substack app
Then fill your page.
There’s lots to do sure. There are also a tonne of distractions and triggers.
There’s then a more complex blend across the two places of how you’ll deal with notifications.
For example, some people prefer to write in a google document before transferring here, for others they make time to show up on Notes once their scheduling is done for the week.
What would feel GOOD to you? I have knocked Substack to wifi only since I don’t want to delete the app because of the 2FA faff. This means I’m not tempted to ‘quickly’ reply whilst in the supermarket queue. It keeps me more in the present and less in the hustle of doing/ responding. It makes me more conscious.
I invite you to make yourself some rules, boundaries and invitations around the two places independently.
Here’s the members replay, if you want to catch up?
We only recorded for 30 minutes so it’s a short, snappy one today. I’ve also made a podcast version for you which is something new I’m trying when we’re not doing lots of screen sharing. The transcript is embedded in the podcast incase you want to scan and get to the exercises.
Looking forward to connecting more deeply on this topic with you. Let me know what resonates for you in the comments?

I’ve recently written out a schedule based on my menstrual cycle!
It peaks at 3 blogs a week, 3 notes a day (and 3 linked in posts) in summer week then 2 lots of each either side and only one in winter week.
It feels simple, aligned and I know where I’m at - let’s see what happens!
I have a longer term plan to take a full week off over winter week. Full phone switch off and everything. I’m building up to that in the next 2 years. This year I will have had 4 of them by Xmas, next year I’m increasing it to every other month. The year after, everyone will know it’s a monthly thing.
Thank you, Claire!
