This is about my Substack retreat next week and the purpose is to remind people they only have a couple of days to book, it also serves as authority and beauty - https://substack.com/@clairevenus/note/c-113234132
My note is about small changes. In this note, I specifically talk about a tiny change I made to my routine so that I read more (instead of defaulting to my phone). My purpose is to connect.
This is GREAT Nicola. The photo is fab and a good substack crowd-pleaser too. I want to ask you - what is the emotion you'd like people to leave with... ?
Thanks Claire! I had to spend some time thinking about this (lol!), I think I was hoping people would feel inspired to find a small slot of time that could be re-purposed for reading (or other activity) and also that they would feel some resonance with the predicament of how easy it is to default to phone "entertainment".
It’s upcoming mental health awareness week in the UK and the theme is community, so starting to drop some community based notes and gain some interaction.
Love this and I think 90,000 hours is hard to quantify so you could add in brackets (over 11k working days)... you could also play around with more inclusive language about what being 'at work' means as alot of folks here will be self employed so simply saying 'while your working' that sort of thing... just little tweaks for deeper connection and people recognising themselves in the copy?
This is a post about why we might benefit from talking to more strangers. I hope it serves as encouragement and a reminder that although the world is pretty terrifying, most people are good. Thanks Claire.
This is so interesting. I always feel silly when I say "hello" to strangers who walk past (we live in a village and so I feel this is normal?) and they don't respond! 😬
Keep saying it! sometimes I think people don’t respond coz they are SO unused to it. Other times they might just be grumps but let’s not let that stop us. You’ve inspired me to say hello to more strangers on any walks i do today. Might count how many responses I get 🤣🤞
I’ve been trying to figure out where my publication sits in Substack. The note explores different avenues and ends in a question to gather views and also connect with others in a similar situation.
I shared this note as a gentle offering, an unmasking, a remembering, a blooming.
I hope it reaches the sensitive souls, the deep feelers, the neurodivergent creatives who’ve been told they’re too much, too quiet, too sensitive, too slow. I hope it lands with those who’ve spent years trying to be “normal” but are now choosing to be true.
This is for anyone learning to honour their own rhythm. You’re not alone. You’re not broken. You’re not too much. You’re blooming, just as you are.
I was walking outside on the deck this morning, looked down and was just amazed and inspired by the tenacity of this little flower! Decided to share hoping it would perhaps bring a little joy to someone.
I remember being on a walk and seeing beautiful flowers and bushes….and it reminded me that we admire imperfectly nature. Leaves have tears, petals curl, trees grow lopsided and still, we call it beautiful.
But when it comes to ourselves, we expect perfection.
In this note I share my latest writing piece about gratitude and mindset. I’m truly beyond filled with gratitude because we just moved through(actually kind of still moving though) a very hard journey. Our teenage son recovering from cancer. Life is back lif-ing again and it’s AMAZING! But, it’s a different kind of hard. So, gratitude is my soft landing place. It’s oozing out everywhere!! Working with mantra has helped me so much and share about it in this article.
Oh so beautiful Mary. I am relieved for you, and yes gratitude can really hold us steady at the toughest of times. I’ve brought it back as a daily ritual for the past several weeks 💜
Thank you, Sarina. I appreciate your kindness. Yes, gratitude has really been a thread holding me together, lately. Life gets so disconcerting sometimes.
Do you ever get a vulnerability hangover? I do, especially when I share parts of myself I usually keep hidden, yet something in me feels called to open up. I’m always glad after I do it, especially on Substack where it feels safe. 💕
It’s funny how, as an ADHDer, I can instantly recall everything I’ve forgotten or messed up… but it’s so much harder to see what I have done (let alone feel proud of it😆).

Loved this idea and am going to figure out where I can swap out my phone for a book (and tackle my TBR list too!) 📚
So simple but effective 🌟
ON BEGINNING
I wrote it to encourage others and myself to begin…. Whatever might be within or beneath the surface of the ordinary to just begin.

Beautiful
Thank you that really means a lot to me!

Thanks Claire, this is really helpful. I think it’s because I’m so used to posting on LI and having a corporate audience! Good tips 🙏
A great thought piece. There is so much opportunity for (informal and formal) mentoring in work places as well. xx
🪞 REFLECTION
I'm going to be reflecting on April tomorrow & these are my initial thoughts 💬

Your analogy was sooo good! We can never get enough reminders that we need to be on our own path, going at our own speed. 💕
Thank you Mika! ☺️
My Note is about starting messy, being brave, and why awkward beginnings aren’t so bad after all. 💕

Brave enough to start ❤️ love this!

I wonder how many times we need to repeat this to make people take it seriously. 😅

I think a lot of people can relate to this!
I saw a request for a creative nonfiction category and honestly, that’s perfect.

I love this idea. Community and connection is so important in a role that can often feel isolating. xx
Congrats on this! I love that it’s a mini pod 👌🏽
Looking forward to listening to more of this!

I was so so grateful for that lesson that day.
So true Mika, love that!🌷

“Life is back lif-ing” but you still have such a wonderful outlook. I’m sure so many people would benefit from your words. xx
Appreciate your kind words, Mika💛Writing is such medicine through the daily grind. I hope you are doing well, friend.

Love to you ♥️
My note today is a new poem that I wrote to lighten the weight of a big heavy post that I wrote over the weekend. It’s a little vulnerable share of what’s etched in my heart from my old career, with a purpose to connect by showing another side of myself. https://substack.com/@lulamorris/note/c-113267613?r=2r9lbl&utm_medium=ios&utm_source=notes-share-action

Right there with you on that.
Really appreciated your note, Kate🙏🏼
