Just before the summer, I launched an organic cotton t-shirt/ apparel shop.
I studied design at school and I nearly did a design course instead of a degree. The day I got my a-level results I decided to go in a different direction and I studied Film, TV, Literature and Theatre instead. I doubt I would have ended up teaching on Substack if I’d stuck with design….
Anyway, there’s part of my that LOVES design, the outlet for playing with colour and visceral experiences. I always feel like I enjoy learning more skills in this area - it’s a lifetime practise I guess.
Designing the t-shirts has so great. I get so many compliments on them and I’m proud to say; “oh thanks, I designed it.”
If you want to buy one of my thoughtfully designed tees or hoodies for the autumn, you can head on over and save 10% this weekend.
You can read about the launch of my shop and how it went here over in my ‘self seeded business; section over at Creatively Conscious (my other Substack) and find out how to make one for yourself.
Shop the writerly collection? Remember you get 10% from this morning at 9am until midnight on Sunday with the code TENOFF
I’d love to know if you have questions or if I’ve inspired you to design your own?
Claire

PS - Incase you missed it, this week we met and chatted more about ‘conversion content’ and the value we have for our paid subscribers here on Substack. It’s part of my ‘make money on Substack’ series which is focussed on getting you to $10k on your publication. https://sparkleon.substack.com/s/substack-10k
Congrats on the launch Claire. LOVE that I went to buy the shopper/tote bag and it's out of stock: it's a bit annoying for me, but means that other people have loved your collection so much that something has sold out! Also, the 'I am often very tired' t-shirt made me chuckle so much. I'm like, this was definitely made by a busy mum-creative!
I love them Claire! It reminds me I miss making clothes and selling them which is what I did before nature stuff! Since I started my substack I've wondered how I can release some small runs of hand printed bags or something so I can keep my creative fire alive in that textile avenue. Perhaps I should plan this for a pre-xmas run.
