WELCOME to month two of
12 Chapters Club.
This month, your 12 Chapters prompt is;
To celebrate you started! To honour the path is never quite linear.
What that means to you will be unique to you. You opened a document and wrote a title - brilliant! You sat in a cafe and overheard a conversation to start an idea - great! You interviewed someone to give you more context for your topic - yay!
A diary note from today...
I am proud that I managed to write (and copy and paste) over 4000 words of my new book in Jan.
I also realised in drafting a guest article for another creative that I will have more words to add as I chose the topic that best fits the book I'm writing. It makes me feel vulnerable to write about money but that's why I must carry on.
Earning more money as a soulful creative who runs a values driven business means I have more to gift to charity and food banks which makes my heart swell. Every time I hear how much debt young people will have if they want to go to university motivates me to show up as much as a can for my business but also in service and not forgetting my own creative flow and passions. You can read more of this type of writing over here.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you below… the chat threads each month will be hosted here on Substack.
TELL us (in the comments) - how did you get on in January, how’s your book shaping up? Don’t forget to introduce yourself too so we can keep getting to know each other.
If you are publishing some of your book as newsletters or blogs here, tag me and I’ll share.
Sending sparkles for your month ahead. I'll write again 5 days before the end of the month as a reminder. This email will come from outside of Substack so make sure you are signed up to receive those here.
Let's write books!!

So in January, I thought about my book ALOT. Did I write anything? No. But I had a middle of the night wake up and the book revealed its title to me which then made the whole process of deciding what my linchpin was for my book. I’d been thinking of a whole host of things that didn’t quite work together, and then hey presto, it appeared. So the plan for February is;
1. Look through a lot of books in my area and have a look at the chapter names (this was something suggested by Caro Clarke of Portobello literary agency) to support me with ideas for my own chapter titles and then (hopefully) make it easier for the words to flow as I have a rough direction.
2. I know what my first chapter is so start writing.
EXCITED!💫
Hi all, well January was a month of two halves for me. The first half I was ill and recovering from a really bad cough that strained my rib muscles to the point they were agony each time I coughed, sneezed or even moved a bit wrong! Lucky some antibiotics saw off the cough which in turn helped the muscles recover. And I began to get back into my writing (and general living too!). I came up with the idea for this book - working title is Rare - years ago but recently had been working on the world building and characters. Thanks to the accountability from this group I have completed the first draft of chapter one. In the writing of this, more ideas and storylines have sprung up and today I started chapter 2. I’m really excited about it and I am determined to do my best to stick to the monthly schedule this year and get this book written once and for all. :)
